A dream made of one fabulous straight and six corners!
Even though the long 24-Hour circuit track has seen eleven evolutions since 1923 including the installation of the chicanes on the Hunaudières; the most famous straight in the world has not lost any of its magic.
Conjuring up the names of the bends which fuse the 13, 605 km brings a shiver of excitement to all motor sport amateur. There are of course the ‘classics’: the Tertre Rouge, the first corner after the start and the passage under the famous Dunlop footbridge, it’s the first rush of adrenaline. Mulsanne, often welcomed as it marks the end of the long straight. Actually although you look forward to entering it, it is not entirely dissatisfying to leave it as despite the chicanes, you still go very, very fast… Next is Arnage, a name dear to all lovers of the 24 Hours, which forms, in conjunction with the Indianapolis bend, the ‘S of Arnage’, on roughly KM 10 of the circuit. Porsche and Ford also have given their names to corners. This is in recognition of the German manufacturer which holds the record for victories, and equally the American Giant's legendary 1970’s construction the Ford GT40, which remains a name synonymous with Le Mans
