Let's make a dream...
| And what if…for the occasion of the Le Mans Classic…we all pulled out all the stops so our garb is in unison with the cars? And what if, for our great pleasure we are all dressed elegantly, sporty and smart with outfits of the time? he range of clothing possibilities is vast because the period spans the 1920s to the 1980s… One could also meet a Dandy or a Gentleman… A photographer with his Leica or Browning box… And a mechanic in his Sunday best… A priest in cassock and a sportsman dawning tweed cap!!! The 2 Audreys (Hepburn and Tautou), Grace Kelly and Brigitte Bardot…

For quite a long time our English friends have prescribed to this ‘dress code' idiom, without shame without any reservation…and with a real flare Let us say that this would create an allure and that the paddock with everyone dressed in the day would make this trip back in time surreal. Thus everyone would have the joy of participating, in his own way, in one of the most important events in the world of vintage automobiles. No tie required nor jacket… Leave these codes to the Americans, try to dress ‘smart' and if dressing in the era frightens you…why not just make a bit of an effort (and avoid shorts, sandals, as comfortable as they may be, nasty trainers or ratty T-shirts). Un curé en soutane et un sportif en casquette de tweed!!! We need you and it will be worth giving it a go! <<Back |
