Le Mans Heritage Club: Looking for the 24 Hours patrimony

This contest, only open to the 24 cars which have previously competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, is different from the Club Contest; favouring history and technology over design and the condition of the car.

The cars will be presented by class:

  • 1st  class: 1923 – 1939 - 2nd class: 1949 – 1957 - 3rd  class: 1958 – 1962
  • 4th  class: 1963 – 1971 - 5th class: 1972 – 1981 - 6th class: After 1981

Selection criteria:

Authenticity / History
  • Regarding authenticity, the car must preferably be equipped with its original parts, restored or preserved as original.
  • Parts remanufactured identically to original are accepted.
  • The History takes into account… the history of the car preferably uninterrupted and unquestionable. Rareness as well as minimal ownership changes will be rewarded.
Prize List

Participations and results achieved in competition, particularly the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Innovation
The 24 Hours have always been a test bed for manufacturers. The technological nature of various points (chassis, engine, brakes, transmission, aerodynamics, etc...), will be judged placing the car into the period context.
Exterior / Interior Design
Bodywork, chassis, engine and compartment as well as the interior.
Condition
  • Conservation or restoration condition (bodywork, chassis, engine and compartment).
  • Since we are talking about racing cars, an over restored model can be penalised.
  • All the cars must be in working order.

The Supreme Award will of course be the "Best of Show".
