All for one, one for six
Thus, the Le Mans Classic winner is not a car but a team. Indeed, as for the 24 Hours, victory awards the work achieved for 24 hours by the whole team. This results in an intensive and exceptional atmosphere all night long.
L'un des résultats en est la même ambiance nocturne intense et exceptionnelle que pendant la course moderne.
The principle is easy to understand. The team has to be made up of one car from each grid, meaning six crews. The track allowing 65 cars in competition is full up, leading to 65 teams. The drivers, who now know each other, get organised by themselves, sometimes with the Organisers' back up if required.
As a result, the finish of each round is considered as an intermediate classification only.
