Keen to offer both spectators and competitors grids that are high-performing, well-balanced, and representative of motorsport’s evolution, nearly 500 competition cars are divided into six grids, each corresponding to a major era. The selected models come from cars that took part in major endurance races between the 1970s and the late 2010s, with particular attention given to machines that actually competed at the time.
For each grid, ten reserve cars take part in the practice sessions, both daytime and nighttime, so they are immediately ready to join the race in the event of a withdrawal or retirement by another competitor. All grids will start using a rolling start procedure, perfectly suited to the power and speed of these modern and historic endurance machines.
The historic grids 1 to 5 will return to the track for the 2027 edition — **Le Mans Classic Heritage**!
